Who’s LinkedIn profile is it anyway?
Hear this debate all the time – who owns my LinkedIn page, me or the company I work for?
This should not even be debatable.
Your LinkedIn page is YOURS and represents your brand.
Now, be aware that the content you post directly affects your brand. Posting about the company and product you’re working for/with, makes sense and is not wrong.
But, you also have a lot of knowledge and opinions on your profession and passions – post them. Share them with your network. Live on the edge, if a post makes you feel uncomfortable, good. And, don’t just share others posts, solely. Hand craft your own content, you don’t have to write an essay, just a sentence or two. Use video, use photo’s.
Be wise about what you post, you can challenge others but don’t be controversial. Remember the power of LinkedIn is how many people can see your post, so be mindful that once you hit send it will be seen, so make sure it aligns with the brand you want build for yourself.
